Event description
A free, interactive 90-minute workshop exploring integrative wellness practices for reaching your health goals. (Sessions hosted on Zoom).

About this Event

How do we define health?

How might a healthy mind, body, and spirit transform our lives?

What's possible, not only for ourselves, but for our children, their children, and generations beyond when we acknowledge our worthiness of total wellbeing and joy?

These are questions I invite us all to ask ourselves as we explore the meaning and impact of health and wellness in our own lives. The answers can provide us with a compass, helping us to navigate our individual journeys to total wellbeing, mind, body and spirit.

This interactive workshop aims to:

  • Define integrative health and wellness
  • Explore the personal and ecological impact of integrative wellness
  • Empower and inspire you to become intrinsically motivated to achieve your health and wellness goals
  • Address and create solutions for any real and/or perceived barriers to achieving the wellbeing you desire
  • Help you to understand the impact of stress and trauma on physical health, and to begin adopting mindfulness practices for healing
  • Address unhealthy dieting narratives and provide tools for developing a healthy relationship with food
  • Support you in creating an individual action plan for reaching your goals

Please choose one from the list of session options below (sessions will be hosted on Zoom):

  • Wednesday, May 13th, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
  • Thursday, May 14th, 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
  • Friday, May 15th, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM

All participants will receive workshop materials prior to their chosen session. Those who participate through the end will receive a surprise gift.

The Women's Health and Empowerment Workshop is part of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's effort to reduce the racial and ethnic disparities in Severe Maternal Morbidity (SMM). SMM is the unexpected outcome of labor and delivery that result in significant consequences to a woman's health. The goal of the workshop is to empower women to become advocates in their health, and improve the prevention of management of chronic conditions.
