Event description

Description

Through sacrifice and hard work, women have given their time and their resources for the betterment of their communities, and by extension, the world. Join with other like-minded women and men to kick-off Women’s Equality Day on August 24th for a private screening of the documentary “Miss Representation” at Miller Megaplex Theater, Sandy Jordan Commons, 9400 South State Street at 6:30 p.m.

Afterwards, converse with leaders in the community as we discuss the benefits of civic and government engagement. Learn how to support, advocate and mentor those who are creating positive and inclusive community transformation. Help create an accountable call to action as we focus and build on sustaining equitable social change. To learn about the film, click here

Gather with us to celebrate Women’s Equality Day, a day officially designated by Congress in 1971 to commemorate the 1920 certification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, granting women the right to vote.
