WOMEN’S DIPSEA HIKE GUIDELINES
• All official registered participants should pick up their custom-made hike bib on Friday, April 29, at the Mill Valley Recreation Center (180 Camino Alto) from 5-7:30 p.m. OR prior to the hike in Old Mill Park in Mill Valley beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30. Hikers must present PROOF OF VACCINATION to receive hike bib number. Each registered participant will receive a free commemorative Women’s Dipsea Hike t-shirt courtesy of the Dipsea Race Committee when they pick up their bib. The untimed hike starts at 9 a.m. Mask wearing rules will be determined based on health policy of Marin County Health and Human Services at the time of the event.
• Metered and restricted street parking in downtown Mill Valley is enforced on Saturdays. It is recommended that participants find parking along Miller Avenue and side streets and walk to Old Mill Park. Please allow enough time to park and walk to the Start.
• Hikers are encouraged to bring their own snacks and reusable water bottles. Water will be available in the park, at water fountains in Muir Woods, the top of Cardiac Hill, and at the finish line in Stinson Beach. Temperatures predicted ~69F, and layering is encouraged as temperatures fluctuate throughout the course.
• Hiking poles are permitted, but NO DOGS ALLOWED on the trails in accordance with park rules and regulations.
• Hikers must stay on the sanctioned Dipsea Trail. Hike course will be marked with colored flags. Participants should be aware of the rigor of the Dipsea Trail -- it is about 7.5 miles with steep climbs up and down Mt. Tamalpais to Stinson Beach.
• Volunteers will be positioned at all road crossings and some trail junctions. Please follow their instructions and be aware of traffic.
• There is a First Aid station in Muir Woods and medical facilities will be located at Cardiac Hill and the Finish Line. Please be aware of poison oak along the trail.
• The Stage Coach Shuttle is a round-trip public bus running from Stinson Beach to Mill Valley. Please check Stage Coach schedule closer to event as times are subject to change.
• Car-pooling is encouraged from Stinson Beach to Mill Valley. The Dipsea Race Committee is hoping to provide shuttle bus rides from Stinson Beach to Mill Valley that will begin leaving the finish line at 11:30 a.m. and tentatively every half hour after until 4 p.m.; however, Dipsea shuttle buses will leave when each bus is full of passengers.
