When & Where
Women's Bean Project
Women’s Bean Project believes all women have the power to transform their lives through employment. So they hire women who have been chronically unemployed and teach them to work by creating nourishing products. They learn to stand tall, find their purpose and end the cycle of poverty. Because when you change a mother’s life, you change her family’s life. By working in an active business, program participants learn the importance of reliability, accuracy, punctuality, attention to detail and attendance; while also addressing life skills – communication, budgeting, accountability, problem solving and goal setting. Over the course of the 6-9 month program, they learn the necessary skills needed to move into career entry-level employment, creating a brighter future – for themselves, their families, our communities and our economy.
