NEWIEE is proud to host the third annual event in the Women Shaping the Agenda in Energy and the Environment panel series. "New England’s Energy Mix and the Environmental Future," will be held on July 11, 2017 in the Center for Biotechnology Life Sciences (CBLS), Thomas M. Ryan Family Auditorium at The University of Rhode Island: 45 Upper College Rd, Kingston, RI. It is an honor to announce the Women Shaping the Agenda Panel Keynote Speaker, the Governor of Rhode Island, Gina Raimondo.

5:00pm: Networking, Cocktails, and Hors d'Oeuvres
6:00pm: Keynote Address and Panel Discussions

The panel discussion will be moderated by Judy Chang, NEWIEE Founding Board Member, and the panelists include:

  • Sara Burns, President & Chief Executive Officer, Central Maine Power
  • Kathleen Shea, President Transmission, Eversource Energy
  • Heather Hunt, Executive Director, New England States' Committee on Energy
  • Janet Besser, Executive Vice President, Northeast Clean Energy Council



Sponsorship is tremendously valuable to NEWIEE events. NEWIEE may on occasion take photographs and/or video of event attendees for use in print materials or by electronic methods. Your attendance at any NEWIEE event grants permission for NEWIEE to use these photographs and/or video in its marketing and public relations efforts.




Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Please contact Adrienne Lennon with Women Shaping the Agenda questions. This includes ticketing and refunds, last-minute purchases, and attendee name changes.


What is the refund policy?

Please note that we will be unable to give refunds for tickets after 5 PM on July 5th. 


May I pay for my Ticket by Check?

Please make your check out to "NEWIEE". Include a cover letter for how many tickets you would like to purchase and the name, title, company, and email address(es) of the person/people using the tickets.  Mail to P.O. Box 381154,Cambridge, MA 02238-1154.  Once your payment is received, we will enter the names and ticket quantities for your purchase into Eventbrite and send you an email confirmation.  Please allow 10 days for processing. 


Can I buy tickets at the door?

Tickets may not be available at the door as we expect to sell out. 


Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes, your registration/ticket is transferrable. 


Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, you are not required to bring a ticket with you.  


The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

It is fine if you are coming in place of someone and your name does not match the original attendee who purchased the ticket. Please notify the event organizer as soon as possible to produce an new name tag.


What is the attire?

Business casual.

New England Women in Energy and the Environment (NEWIEE)

Founded in Boston in 2008, NEWIEE is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting the work and leadership of women in the fields of energy and the environment, providing a forum for sharing expertise and experiences of its membership, and fostering a dynamic and enthusiastic environment for those who care about energy and environmental issues in New England.  NEWIEE’s membership includes private and public sector members across the six New England states.  NEWIEE hosts networking forums, student outreach events, regional discussion panels on timely topics, and an annual gala celebrating the accomplishments of women leaders in New England.  NEWIEE supports mentoring opportunities for women advancing their careers, drawing on the assistance of accomplished women who are committed to encouraging the next generation of women leaders.
