12:00-12:30 Yoga Nidra: Rest, Release and Receive

1:30-2:30 Cacao & Gratitude Ceremony

2:30 - 3:15 Yoga Nidra: Rest, Receive and Rise

3:15 - 4:00 Closing Ceremony

Yoga Nidra Rest Meditation

Yoga Nidra is a sleep-based form of guided meditation that uses a combination of intention-setting, guided body scan, breath work and imagery as gateways to reducing mental, emotional and physical tensions. During yoga nidra, the mind remains awake, as the recipient is guided into progressively deeper states of consciousness and relaxation.


Intentional Movement (Qoya)

Qoya is a movement system that helps women to get out of their heads & into their bodies so that you can begin to trust yourself deeply and follow your intuition like a compass. Qoya is also a lifestyle that invites you to live from your deepest wisdom & truth.

The three tenets of Qoya are that we remember our essence as wise, wild, & free.

Wise is knowing your truth.

Wild is standing for your truth & staying committed to yourself.

Free is having the space to speak your truth, to speak from your soul.


Cacao (Chocolate) & Gratitude Ceremony

A Cacao Ceremony invites you to move deeply into your heart and connect with yourself in a way that awakens self-love. Cacao awakens the creative and vital energies of the body when used in a ceremonial way. Participants often describe feeling as if their heart is literally opening like a flower. The idea of a Despacho Gratitude Ceremony is simple; you say thank you. No experience necessary, all you need to do is come with a willingness to open your heart! Creative Expression

Participants will create an image or object to take with them as a reminder to continue to rest and receive in their daily lives. This will be easily accessible for all skill levels.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS:

Dana Whiddon:

is a mother, wife, artist, therapist, hiker and novice gardener. She believes in the healing power of community. Dana knows that art, movement and meditation are powerful forms of medicine. She is passionate about creating sacred space where these modalities can be practiced. Learn more about Dana here.


Wendy F. Blair:

grew up to develop a “black belt” in anxiety and stress, and from that journey became a holistic psychotherapist, accredited certified Emotional Freedom Technique/EFT “tapping” practitioner, and a trained Daring To Rest Yoga Nidra Facilitator. Both traditional and alternative in her orientation to life and clinical work, she has had a daily mindfulness practice for over 25 years, and integrates both EFT and Yoga Nidra into her life, as well as professional work. Traveling from NYC to Cold Spring

The retreat space is accessible via Metro North commuter trains. Trains run hourly on the weekends out of Grand Central Terminal. It is a beautiful 20-25 minute walk through the village or a 5-minute cab to the studio from the Cold Spring train station. There is ample parking if you choose to drive.


PLEASE NOTE: This will be an intimate event. Space is limited to 15 participants. Open to women (cis & trans) 18+
