Event description

Description

The Department of Energy's POWER employee resource group and the Senior Executives Association invite you to join this one-day training to inspire women in government to consider pursuing Senior Executive Service (SES) career paths.

  • Learn more about the Executive Core Qualifications, preparing for the SES, and the SES hiring process
  • Benefit from group flash mentoring with SES mentors in small groups – seek guidance, words of wisdom, skills for overcoming difficult situations for women in traditionally male-dominated fields, career planning advice, and tactics for overcoming barriers in the federal workplace from experienced government leaders
  • Participate in interagency networking & make professional associations among fellow women in federal service
  • Hear from high-level keynote speakers on their personal journey to SES leadership.
  • Discuss how to inspire the younger generation to pursue civil service and reach more underrepresented individuals including women and girls.

Recommended for Grades GS-12 (and equivalent) and higher, registration will be open to federal employees from all federal government agencies. Due to limited space, confirmed registration is required and attendees must be available to participate in the full event. This training is open for both male and female participants.

The day will include a keynote speaker and Q&A, a presentation on Executive Core Qualification, introduction of SES mentors, mentoring roundtables (multiple sesions lasting 30 minutes each), recognition of mentors, a drawing, and a networking session.
