“To all of the little girls..., never doubt that you are valuable and powerful and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world to pursue and achieve your own dreams.” - Hillary Clinton
If we want women and girls to achieve at the highest level and continue to shatter glass ceilings, they need female role models at the highest level. In 2011, only 14% of board seats at Fortune 1000 companies were occupied by women. In 2016, that number grew to roughly 20%. We’ve made some progress, but in 2017, our efforts and our progress need to be even bolder. We must be bold for change.
In honor of International Women's Day, HubSpot invites men and women from the greater Boston area to our second annual Women on Board event, which will celebrate efforts toward parity and educate attendees on how we can increase the percentage of women at the very top.
HubSpot’s own VP of Operations and non-profit Board Member of WEST (Women in the Enterprise of Science & Technology), Alison Elworthy, will be hosting a discussion with Lorrie Norrington, an Operating Partner at Lead Edge Capital and a Board Member at Autodesk, Colgate Palmolive, Eventbrite, Bigcommerce, and HubSpot.
Attendees Will Learn:
The impact a diverse board can have on an organization's bottom line
How aspiring female leaders can position themselves for board positions
How to prepare yourself for board interviews and discussions
Following the discussion, we'll open the evening up to networking hour, so be sure to stick around for drinks, apps, and engaging conversations.
If you are looking to take bold action towards increased diversity in tech, join us at HubSpot to celebrate International Women’s Day and learn from two remarkable leaders in the space. #BeBoldforChange
