Event description

Description

To close out Women's History Month, please join us to recognize our wonderful women of persistence.

In honor of Women's History Month 2019, nineteen men and women took time to nominate 18 women of persistence. We are meeting to fete, not just the two selected, but all women of persistence we know and love.

Light snacks will be provided with a brief program around 4 p.m.

For the second year running, the Women's Caucus of the League of California Cities honors women who have shaped their local communities through their tireless commitment.

The selection process is administered by each board member. For Santa Clara County, Because Women's Caucus Board members Hon. Nancy Smith and Hon. Ellen Kamei are from neighboring Cities, they are using a common nomination form. Councilmember Smith is working with a committee of the Sunnyvale Youth Public Policy Committee to select a slate of finalists on Sunday February 24th. On Sunday March 3, Councilmembers Smith and Kamei will select the winners, Marie Bernard, Executive Director of Sunnyvale Community Services and Joan Kurtz, Co-Chair of the Educational Equity Committee of the AAUW Sunnyvale Cupertino Branch.

The reception is for all nominators and nominees to celebrate and share our stories.

Please join us as a way to close out Women's History Month with a special event!
