Women of Impact Presents: Life In Balance Final Introductory Practice Circle

Many women ask themselves the question, “How do I balance my work and my life?” What if by simply asking the question in this way we are actually reinforcing the problem? What if the problem is not figuring out how to balance your work and your life, but rather, how to find purpose and meaning and a sense of peace and ease that flows in every part of your life?

We began to explore this question during our amazing Day Long Retreat on September 13, when a group of powerful women came together to create a sacred space of sharing and healing. The event was so powerful that many of the women who participated left asking, what’s next? When is the next retreat going to be? We decided that rather than simply creating another one-off event, we will implement practice circles. The practice circle is a facilitated community of women who gather together once a month to support one another as we work to re-imagine balance, ease and peace in a way that empowers us to embrace the complexity of our lives and provides us with tools to maintain our sanity, dignity and health in a world that does not often create space for us to be fully present in our lives or in our bodies.

This is not easy work, and it is even more challenging when attempted in isolation. In circle we develop tools and practices that can help us to navigate this messy, beautiful, complicated, very imperfect thing called life with grace and joy. In circle we share, learn and grow, together. In circle we laugh and we cry and we dance, together.
