Event Details

Science Club for Girls is hosting a panel discussion, in partnership with Simmons Institute for Leadership and Change, called “Women of Color in STEM: Finding Mentorship and Balance.” 

Featuring:

 Moderator: Monica Hall-Porter, Assistant Professor of Biology, Dean College

Alissa Myrick, Research Associate, Harvard Public School of Health

Laurel Royer, Senior Scientist, Exponent, Inc.

Mareshia Donald, ‎SEED Academy Program Coordinator, MIT

Maya Hanna, Manager Statistician, Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company

Victoria Abraira, Post-doc, Harvard Medical School


The panelists will discuss challenges they've faced as women of color in the science, technology, engineering, and math fields, as well as practices for successful work/life balance. Light refreshments will be served during a half hour networking period, followed by an hour-long discussion and Q&A session. The event is open to the public.

The panel discussion will take place at Simmons College, in the Special Functions Room (1st floor of the Main Campus Building).
