Event Details

NewPower Education is excited to announce Women Make a Difference: How to Get a Seat at the Table, a day-long workshop for women interested in engaging in public service in Georgia.  Whether you are contemplating a run for office, want to learn how to effectively advocate for policies you’re passionate about, or simply are curious about how you can leverage your expertise to make a positive impact in your community, this workshop is for you!


The day will be packed with inspiring women speakers currently serving in city, county and state government, along with networking opportunities and food to sustain you. 


A special keynote address will be delivered by Andrea Young, Executive Director of ACLU-Georgia. Ms. Young is acclaimed for her roles in civic engagement and advocacy. 


Other confirmed speakers include:

  • State Representative Park Cannon

  • The Honorable LaTisha Dear Jackson, DeKalb County Superior Court

  • Commissioner Nancy Jester, DeKalb County

  • Commissioner Lisa Cupid, Cobb County

  • Council President Felicia Moore, Atlanta City Council

Getting There


Driving:  St. Luke's is located at 435 Peachtree Street NE, between Ralph McGill Boulevard and Pine Street, just north of the downtown business district and four blocks south of North Avenue.  


Complimentary onsite parking is available for your convenience.  Attendees may park in the lot directly across Peachtree Street from St. Luke's front door.  Attendees may also park in one of the several smaller lots adjacent to the building - two are accessed from Peachtree Street to the north of the church; the other is accessed from Courtland Street to the back of the church building.


MARTA: St. Luke's is located two blocks from the MARTA Civic Center train station
