Women in Whiskey Dinner at The Coopers Tavern
Tue, March 21, 2017, 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM CDT
"Not Just A Man's Drink: Ladies Lead The Whiskey Renaissance"
Americans drank nearly 37 million cases of domestically produced whiskey last year, nearly a 40 percent increase from a decade ago. In the 1990s, only about 15 percent of whiskey drinkers were female. Today, women represent almost 40 percent of whiskey imbibers in the U.S. Step aside gentleman! Whiskey has an "old boys club" reputation rooted in its history, but there's a vanguard of new female distillers, blenders and tasters greatly influencing the whiskey world, and big spirits companies are also filling top spots with women. The Coopers Tavern warmly welcomes Robin Nance, Beam Suntory National Brand Ambassador, and Tish Harcus, Curator of the Canadian Club Heritage Center for a special dinner celebrating Women & Whiskey. Robin Nance is the keynote speaker at this year's WhiskyFest in Chicago, the nation's leading Whiskey Festival.
