Women in Technology and Finance: The Reality and the Future 2017
Wed, March 22, 2017, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM GMT
Women represent 47% of the UK workforce. But they only represent 19% of the country IT workforce and +25% of the financial services workforce. The pay discrepancies in pay between women and men range between 30% and 60% in the UK. For many of us these numbers are surprising and disturbing at the same time. Accordingly, since 2010 the British government and the European Union have been drawing plans and launching initiatives to bridge such illogical gap in gender equality at the workplace. Having said that, the numbers did not change much and the latest forecasts are saying 2020 will be the year when gender inequality at workplace will decrease by 3%-5% of today’s average.
In honour of Women International Day, Technology and Finance Society will be hosting: Daniela Menzky, COO - CyNation, Gemma Davie, Senior Director of Financial Planning - CA Technology, Diana Paredes, CEO & Co-founder - Suade, and Rebecca Bole, EVP and editor-in-chief - Advisen Ltd (TBC) to discuss:
