This fall, we explore the intersectionality of social issues and environmental issues in many different aspects . Our fall series begins with Women in Sustainability members Sydney Jackson-Clockston (Citrine Unlimited), Tess Hurlburt (SoulNia) and Sarita Parikh (glow + gather), as they have an open panel discussion about the importance of diversity and inclusion within the realm of sustainability and how it's impacting our society and climate change. Join in this conversation as we being our deep dive into why and how to ensure that sustainability is diverse and inclusive.
About Our Presenters:
Sydney Jackson-Clockston, Citrine Unlimited
Sydney is an impact-driven social entrepreneur bringing transformation into the professional & personal lives of others. Pre COVID-19 Sydney owned and operated a responsible travel business. Although she still has her travel advisor credentials Sydney made the decision to pivot from travel to Transformative Professional Coaching and Virtual Event Coordination. Sydney prides herself on being committed to transformation, restoration/rejuvenation (transcending past sustainability), accessibility, and abundance. Sydney enjoys working with businesses, not for profits, and entrepreneurs committed to making a difference in the world.
Tess Hurlburt, SoulNia
Tess Hurlburt and her wife Kamiya Willoughby are the cofounders and creators of SoulNia - a vegetarian soul food pop up and catering business. Through SoulNia, Tess and Kamiya focus on redefining how we consume soul food in our minds and our bellies. Not only do they focus on breaking down stereotypes revolving around soul food, but they have a deep commitment to promoting sustainability in their business and in their community.
Sarita Parikh, glow + gather
Sarita Parikh is the co-founder of glow + gather, a retail lifestyle brand that believes in social impact, sustainability, spreading joy and encouraging simple, healthy living. She is also the founder of Mind, Body, & Play Therapies, a pediatric physical therapy private practice more recently focusing on assisting children and their families achieve targeted mobility and health goals. From healthcare to retail, Sarita has 20 years of experience successfully starting and running companies committed to creating an impact, providing mentorship, and building community. She has served on multiple non-profit boards with a focus on children with medical and special needs and their families.
