Description

Wednesday June 12 – 11:30 am to 1 pm

Olmsted Academy North

4530 Bellevue Ave, Louisville, KY 40215

Two minutes South of I-264, Southern Parkway Exit.

Young women often face barriers to entry in STEM-related careers. Changing this paradigm starts in our public schools. Our teachers are on the front line in addressing this equity issue and our community’s challenges for building a robust STEM workforce.

At 11:30 we will drop in on the TKY Summer Institute to see veteran TKY faculty working with our incoming cohort of 48 new teachers. Summer Institute is a demonstration of the deep investment Teach Kentucky makes in the summer pre-service cohort training, better preparing our teachers for the classroom.

At noon we will enjoy a casual boxed lunch with several of our veteran STEM teachers. They will discuss the challenges and issues facing STEM education and share the innovative practices of JCPS and of our individual teachers.

Will you be able to join us? We also have the following events in June, and more to come in July! We would love for you and your colleagues to be part of the conversation! Contact us at (502) 458-0830 with any questions about this or future events!

June 17 - TKY and The Academies of Louisville

June 19 - Louisville Water Company: A Model For Collaboration
