Event description
Let's enjoy a Tuesday evening happy hour for women in robotics at Playground, with a Q&A session with some more great Women in Robotics!

About this Event

Some Women in Robotics speakers doing Q&A will be:

Ariel Anders, Roboticist at Robust.AI

Ariel is a roboticist with a decade of experience blending the fields of robotics and computer science. She is the first technical hire at Robust.AI, an early stage robotics startup that is building a cognitive engine to enable common sense reasoning in robotics.

Ariel received her Doctorate in Computer Science at MIT, where she researched robust robotic manipulation methods with the vision of enabling household helpers. As a teaching assistant at MIT she taught three undergraduate hands-on robotics laboratory courses and instructed two high-school autonomous vehicle classes. Her passions extend outside research and education: at MIT she helped found a clean energy assessment center, developed an iOS app for people with vision impairment, and received a grant to install therapy lamps across campus.

Ariel attained a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of California: Santa Cruz in 2012. She earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT in 2014 and completed her PhD in 2019.

Gabrielle Halberg, UX Software Engineer at Playground Global

Leveraging her technical and design skills, Gabrielle works with Playground companies on projects including robotics, application development, user experience design and product discovery. She is currently working closely with Artificial, a robotics software company building better tools for automation.

Nikhita Singh, Design Technologist at Artificial

Nikhita designs, builds and studies how people interact with smart technologies through objects, spaces and tools. Her work lives at the intersections of intelligent machines, data, and human-centered design. As a graduate student at the MIT Media Lab in Cynthia Breazeal's Personal Robots Group she desgined and studied social intelligent AI plateforms. Currently, Nikhita is working at Artificial, an early stage robotics software startup.

plus Andra Keay, Managing Director of Silicon Valley Robotics and founder of Women in Robotics will be the MC for the Q&A.
