POSTPONED UNTIL FALL 2020. Out of an abundance of caution, Capital One has made a decision to temporarily postpone all on-campus community programming and volunteerism events

Women in Identity 2020 DC Area Meet-up

Women in Identity is kicking off 2020 by bringing together women across the industry for the second DC area meet-up to collaborate, grow leadership skills and industry knowledge. On March 11th, join us for an afternoon of inspiring speakers, networking activities, and industry discussions.

Why should you attend?
You will gain insights from women leaders on how to develop your professional skills. You will hear from a panel of experts on the growing issues in Identity and Privacy. Take the next steps towards speaking at a conference by bringing your conference talk ideas and abstracts to receive coaching. We will show you how to network and then give you an opportunity to put your new skills to use. You will meet women in the Identity and related fields to strengthen your network. You will leave energized to take on leadership roles and spend 2020 investing in yourself and other women.

What is Digital Identity?
Digital Identity encompasses a variety of sectors from verification-as-a-service to identity and access management (IAM), consumer identity and access management (CIAM), cloud (SaaS) identity, transaction authentication, and the newest entrant – self-sovereign identity. Fields related to Identity include Cyber Security, Fraud, Multi-Factor Authentication and much more. Join us if you have experience in any of these fields or simply want to learn more; all experience levels and industries are welcome!

What is Women in Identity?
Women in Identity is an open forum for women in the identity field to share experiences, collaborate, and gain support. Our mission is to inspire, elevate and support a more diverse workforce in the digital identity industry. It is our hope that this organization will create a space for mentorship, idea sharing, and support. We aspire to foster confidence in our members to share their own expertise through avenues such as speaking at conferences, sitting on panels and planning other meet-ups. Our goal is to create visibility for women in the identity field and empower a whole community of women to support one another.

Women in Identity (WiD) is a registered non-profit membership organisation, run by volunteers whose purpose it is to promote parity with respect to opportunity, reward, recognition and professional mobility in relation to gender, inter-sectionality, race, ability, ethnicity, sexual orientation/identity, creed or social status.
