Join us in welcoming the Commbank Women in Focus – Silicon Valley Study Tour, a select group of 10 Australian high-potential female entrepreneurs using technology to shake-up fields including legal services, recruitment, custom jewelry, communications and more. Share stories, network and learn with other Australian and US female entreprenuers over breakfast.

Katie Mihell, Head of Women in Focus

Katie is dedicated to inspiring, informing and connecting female entrepreneurs across Australia. Women in Focus is a community, managed by Commonwealth Bank (Australia’s leading provider of integrated financial services) that aims to inspire, inform and connect women. We are passionate about facilitating the growth of female led businesses in Australia, and providing them with a platform that offers peer support, advice, shared experience and conversation; as well as access to resources, connections and funding solutions that enable opportunity.


Shaherose Charania, Women 2.0

Shaherose is currently the President and CEO of Women 2.0. In parallel, she leads Founder Labs, an early stage incubator focused on new mobile ideas and is a mentor with 500 Startups. At heart she is a mobile and telephony junkie. She’s led new consumer products at Ribbit (BT). Previously, she was Director of Product Management at Talenthouse and JAJAH (sold to Telefonica/O2).


Kate Kendall, CEO & Founder, The Fetch

Kate is an award-winning British-Australian entrepreneur, digital marketer and community strategist based in New York. She has held senior roles in media, publishing, travel and retail companies, mostly startups. Kate is familiar with Australian, European and US markets with deep knowledge of city-level tech and creative initiatives. Kate is currently running multiple global editions of The Fetch out of New York City with her team of editors around the world.


Donna Wells, President and CEO, Mindflash

Donna leads Mindflash.com, a Silicon Valley start-up disrupting the employee training industry. Previously Donna was employee #9 at Mint and, as CMO, was responsible for driving the company's rapid user growth from its 2007 launch to its 2009 sale to Intuit for $170 million. Donna has held senior leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies including Expedia, Intuit and Charles Schwab. She was named one of the Top 25 Women in Tech to Watch by Accenture, was a Finalist for the Wall Street Journal's Marketing Executive of the Year awards, has won multiple Webby's and an OMMA.


Jason Seed, Trade Commissioner, NSW Trade & Investment

Jason has a broad range of entrepreneurial and executive experience in technology startups & growth stage companies. Prior to his appointment in 2012 as Commissioner, North America he held CEO and GM positions at companies including Shortcuts Software, ActionHRM, Abuzz Technologies and Codesion. Jason is also a Director of the Australian American Chamber of Commerce and sits on a variety of other advisory boards.
