Talk abstract - The new poster child of Data Science: Fintech - Neetha Jayanth, PayPal

Fintech is the rapidly growing industry. The wider adoption necessitates the need for an effective risk management capability. Risk management is a double edged sword for fraud and experience management. This session will address how the applications of machine learning and data science are helping to create new frontiers in Fintech and how they are driving and enabling customer adoption at large scale.

Talk abstract - Bots to Combat Sexism - Archana Iyer, Saama Technologies

Four in ten women in the United States have faced gender discrimination in their workplace. Sexism at the workplace is a global problem. Unfortunately, sexism is often reflected in workplace conversations through an unintentional bias. How can we detect such sexism at work? Conversations in workplaces which can be monitored, often happen on platforms like Slack, Outlook, etc. The Sexist Caution Bot helps to detect general sexist remarks in an organization. The talk will center around running models for natural language processing, extracting that information to build bots on social media platforms.

Talk abstract - Delivering simple and intuitive product by understanding customer through analytics - Dibyalaxmi Devi Shougaijam, Fidelity Investments

Analytics in product design is an evolving area where product usage and customer behaviours can be better understood with the help of data analytics. Nowadays a number of experiments are performed on digital products which requires us to do correct/appropriate tagging which will serve as a fundamental step for proceeding with the implementation. For folks who are aspiring to take up a career in Product management or for the ones who are interested in customer behavioural analytics to design and implement better products, this session will encompass a few of those techniques that we could start leveraging instantly.
