Event description

Description

A panel discussion with women leaders from diverse backgrounds in the arts.

The arts sector should represent work and people from the community. It should represent different ages, genders, ethnicities, and backgrounds. To have more representation in the arts, we need more people in leadership positions who have diverse backgrounds. This panel discussion will bring together a few women leaders from diverse backgrounds in the arts sector from different stages in their careers and different disciplines.

Diversity and equality are crucial to the arts and culture community. To increase diversity in the arts, we need to engage and encourage women and people of colour to pursue a career in the arts and hear from leaders from their community to speak about their experience. This public panel will engage women leaders, with a focus on BAME women leaders in the arts to speak about what their role is, their experiences, challenges, how they managed to gain leadership positions in their role, and how they engage with the community.

Speakers:
Cairo Clarke - Assistant Curator, Art on the Underground
