Americans are bombarded with messages about how food, everyday products and certain activities threaten their health and the health of their children; politicians and government regulators use this alarmism to promote regulations. The costs of this dynamic are serious: wasted tax dollars, higher costs and inferior goods for consumers, fewer jobs in companies navigating through red tape, and a needlessly worried, less free American populace.
Luckily, there are a growing number of female writers debunking many of these alarmist claims. With humor and compassion, these women are leading the fight for more accurate reporting of scientific issues and work to reassure moms that the world is not as scary as the alarmists would have them believe.
On , the Independent Women's Forum will bring together several of these female science writers. Come meet and mingle and feel better about the world you live in.
