CALL-IN CULTURE: CENTERING UNHEARD VOICES
What is Womanity? Every year, Woman as Hero organizes one of the nation's largest student-led and student-run feminist leadership conferences in the country. It is a space for people of all genders to commit their talents, passions, beliefs, and interests to changing their communities and influencing systemic change.
This year's theme, Call-In Culture: Centering Unheard Voices, speaks to Woman as Hero's call to galvanize voices within Arizona and make our stories heard. We want to call in, rather than out, in order to hold each other accountable and build sustained relationships that lead to strong and interconnected communities. Your uniquely situated identity puts you in a special place to speak your own truth, and that is what Woman as Hero and Womanity need in order to make this conference the best it can be.
While we have sought solutions while discussing issues - to name just a few - like violence against trans women of color, disability rights and activism, sex trafficking, and the lives of undocumented women and women of color in prison, Woman as Hero needs your voice to continue the conversation.
Progressive, passionate, and curious student leaders from within and beyond the ASU community. Undergraduate and graduate students at ASU are our main focus, the majority being the latter. Professors, faculty, staff, and community organizers are also welcome to attend.
