Event Details

 This is an individual competition made up of 1 guy and 1 girl, kinda like Mr and Ms Claus!!!  The comp has sold out every year and we want to make sure everything is organized and run smoothly so please be on time for registration.  

The purpose of this competition/fundraiser is to raise money for families that need financial aid to pay for medical bills and travel expenses for their childen.

Who is Totally Kids?

At Totally Kids, they provide medically fragile children with the support and love they need for nurturing integration back into school and home. They go above and beyond the regulations that guide our industry to ensure each child gets the opportunity to grow and develop to their fullest potential.

They are committed to meeting their medical, developmental, social, psychological and spiritual needs through a blend of tenderness and expertise.

DIVISIONS: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Masters!

What classifies me as a Beginner or Intermediate and what should I expect?  

Beginners – Need to be able to complete and understand basic lifts and movements such as thruster, back squat, front squat, push press, power snatch, power clean, squat clean, split jerk.  Pull ups will not be required in workouts for beginners.  If you’ve never competed before, this is a great comp to see where your at.

Intermediate/Masters – You have competed before.  Have the basic understandings of all movements for lifting as well as some technical qymnastics skills like pull ups, chest to bar, hand stand push ups.  Ring muscle ups and Bar Muscle Ups are not required.  We will potentionally be adding wall climbs for this division.

Advanced – Know all lifts movements including Olympic lifts, Powerlifting and Gymnastics.  There is no excuse or requirement for you.  You should know how to do it all. We will potentionally be adding wall climbs for this division.

If you have questions about what category your team should be in, the contact information is at the bottom of this write up.  We are taking “YOUR” honesty when it comes to the division you tell us you want to be in. If anyone is in a division that the judge feels shouldn’t be there, you will either be disqualified or moved up or down in a division. Please be honest, so it is fair to all competitors.  If you need to make any changes to your division, you will have 1 week prior to the competition to make a change.  There are absolutley no refunds.

Where: MBX Athletics, 19555 Parthenia Ave, Northridge, CA

When: December 17th @ 9am

Time: Please arrive by 8am so you can get you registered.  

Competition will start promptly at 9:00 am.  This is going to be a great event for all levels!!

What: This event will be a compilation of Hero workouts.  We will also incorporate the Girls, Strength Ladders and other fun movements.  

Games Scoring:

Scoring will be described in more details when we announce workout.

Fundraiser Location:
The fundraiser will be held rain or shine at MBX Athletics at 19555 Parthenia Ave in Northridge next to Brent’s Deli. It’s located in a strip mall and signs will be in front to guide competitors to the location.  There is parking in front and around the back of the building.

What do you need to bring:
Feel free to bring chairs, tents, or mobility objects to stretch prior and after the workouts

Workout 1
Sleigh Ride Gone Bad

INT/ADV
1000 meter team row. Each athlete must row atleast once.

*It can be broken down by any variation. 500/500 250/250/250/250 etc.
40 Rower squats. A picture will be posted showing movement. (This is a gonna be fun)
30 Team Push Ups - Teams must simultaneously go to the ground together and at the top of the push up, touch hands in middle. Hand touching in the middle, must be alternating.
20 alternating team box jumps. 24" for Int/Adv

10 Pull Ups for women / 10 Ring Muscle Ups for men - Advanced only
10 Pull Ups for women/ 10 Chest to Bar for men - Intermediate only

women must complete pull ups before male can complete movement

12 min cap

Beginner
1000 meter team row. Each athlete must row atleast once.

*It can be broken down by any variation. 500/500 250/250/250/250 etc.
40 Team Thrusters - 40 is total reps so 20 per person.  Weight is 95lbs/55lbs
*Team must keep bar in the hang if they want to rest. 15 burpees each as a penalty if bar is dropped.
30 Team Hand Release Clapping Push Ups

*Teams must simultaneously go to the ground together and at the top of the push up, touch hands in middle. Hand touching in the middle, must be alternating.
20 alternating team box jumps. 20" - Beginners can do step ups
10 overhead lunges - women 25lbs plate - men 45lbs plate

women must complete 10 overhead lunges before male can start

12 min cap

Floater - Announced the day of the comp (Expect to do a strength ladder)

Workout 2

Mr and Ms Claus Lifting Sesh

8 rounds:

Girl goes first, then once she completes 3 rounds, athletes load bar for males and then they complete

8 total rounds - Alternate each round.  Ladies start first round, guys do 2, ladies do 3, etc til 8 rounds are completed.

5 Deadlift

10 Front Squats

5 Shoulder to Overhead

10 Bar Facing Burpees

*After Athletes finish part 1, they will then do a team 200 meter partner carry (Intermediate and Advanced only)

* Beginners will do a 400 meter fire hose run.
