Event description
WLRN's Sundial and the Miami Herald present a community conversation about climate risk and South Florida ahead of the 2020 elections.

About this Event

The first debates in the 2020 race for the White House will be in Miami. Before you hear from 20 of the Democrats vying for their party's presidential nomination during that first debate, WLRN's Sundial invites you to a night of conversation on an important issue for South Florida.

Sundial's Luis Hernandez will host a town hall discussion focused on climate risk. The threat to Florida is well-known: rising seas, hotter temperatures, more flooding and stronger hurricanes. Local governments have begun responding to the risks with new projects, and voters in several cities have okayed borrowing money for projects to better prepare and protect neighborhoods. What more do you think should be done to address these risks?

This town hall will feature WLRN and Miami Herald reporters and experts discussing the intersection of this important issue, South Florida, and the 2020 presidential race. You will have an opportunity to participate and ask questions. The conversation will be recorded for broadcast and streamed live. The town hall will be held in Studio A at WLRN Public Media, 172 NE 15th St, Miami.

Free parking is available in the lot located on NE 15th Street and NE 1st Avenue.
