Event description

Description

Add some light and cheer to the darkest season of the year with this unique literary event! Glass Buffalo literary magazine and Wild Life Distillery (WLD) have teamed up to bring you an evening of refreshing tastes and captivating words.

Previous contributors to the magazine and Canmore writers will share compelling poems and stories that delve into the transformative power of nature. Expect to leave the event inspired to “turn over a new leaf” in your own life!

You’ll also be treated to a tour of the new distillery, where you’ll learn about the process and philosophy that goes into creating WLD’s unique craft spirits. The distillery will be showcasing their first release—a craft vodka—in a special feature cocktail. Your ticket includes one free cocktail!

If you didn’t think the event could get any better, we’ll also be giving away a one-night stay at Banff’s peaceful Buffalo Mountain Lodge for the new year!

Magazines and subscriptions will be on sale, so prepare to take home great new reads with you!

Featured Writers:

Sydney Budgeon graduated from the University of Alberta with a BA in History and English in 2014. She was very honoured to have her fiction and nonfiction published by the Glass Buffalo four times. This past summer Sydney returned home after completing her MA in History at the University of Amsterdam.

Dustin Lynx is the author of Hiking Canada’s Great Divide Trail. He is also a publisher with Imaginary Mountain Surveyors, which is dedicated to mountain storytelling. Outdoor adventure is a lifelong passion for Dustin; writing and publishing are two ways that he has found to share that inspiration with others.

Tim Murphy has published poetry, fiction, and nonfiction internationally. He is a spoken word artist, a carpenter, and a skier. His poetry derives from the ancient wisdoms of sawdust and the terror of high-speed gravity sports. Tim lives in Canmore where he coordinates Migratory Words, a bi-weekly writers’ circle.

Nisha Patel is a graduate of the Alberta School of Business Economics and Law and a Certificate in Leadership. She has been performing spoken word for over two years and competed at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word for Team Edmonton.
