About the Speakers

Guillermo Quezada

Guillermo Quezada was born and raised in Mexico City. He earned a Mechatronics Engineering degree from the Tec de Monterrey campus in Mexico City. Although he was always more interested in software and computer systems, six months after graduating, he began his stay in Silicon Valley.

Guillermo has worked in the software development world since 2008, with several positions in the R & N area. He has collaborated for Tellabs, Dell, Symantec and currently for Google with the title of SRE. Guillermo's passion in the area of software has led him to a successful professional career in the areas of embedded software, telecommunications and software production.

Outside the software world, Memo actively participates as president of the EXATEC association in San Francisco and collaborates with the Global Network MX chapter San Francisco where it seeks to create a community of professionals in the Bay Area.

Angela Navarro

Angela Navarro is a Software Engineer at YouTube, where she builds new features for the YouTube Android app. She has previously worked on Google+ Hangouts and Google+ Collections.

As a contributor to Google’s Computer Science in Media team, Angela works to grow the pipeline of women and underrepresented minorities in technology by increasing awareness and changing perceptions of computer science. She has provided technical advisement for TV shows incorporating female programmer characters, including Freeform’s The Fosters and Disney Jr’s Miles From Tomorrowland. Her love of technology started at a young age, inspired by her father’s job as a software engineer at Disney. She first learned to code in high school, where she broke stereotypes by studying computer science and captaining the cheer team. Angela graduated from UCLA with a degree in Computer Science and currently resides in San Francisco.

Fernando Espinoza

Fernando Espinoza is a software engineer at the YouTube, working for the TVs and Game Consoles team.

Before that he worked on mobile apps for Google and built social games and apps for a start-up called Slide. Born in Guadalajara, Fernando has a design degree from ITESO and is a self taught programmer, starting coding at 8 years old by reading magazines at Sanborns and practicing on the display Commodore 64s at department stores. He has lived in San Francisco for the last 10 years.
