Creating a personal brand may seem like a vague or difficult task but having a strong personal brand can create an abundance of opportunity and lead to greater career fulfillment.
Please join Recursion for the next installment of our quarterly Women in Science and Technology series where you will hear from leaders in the sector on how to build a personal brand based on their own experiences, as well as tips and tricks for getting started. There will be both a panel presentation and networking.
Though this series highlights women in science and technology, all are welcome!

PANELISTS:
Leslie Snavely, Chief Digital Officer, CHG Healthcare
Leslie Snavely was named CHG Healthcare’s chief digital officer in 2018. In this new position, Leslie guides the company’s digital strategy as CHG continues to develop platforms and tools to help its growing customer base, which includes medical providers in more than 100 specialties and healthcare facilities across the U.S. and around the world.
Prior to this new position, Leslie was senior vice president of marketing and business development for CHG, where she led a team of more than 100 marketing professionals and helped guide the company’s corporate strategy as a member of CHG’s executive team. In everything she does, Leslie focuses on leveraging creative thinking and strategy to grow the business and develop her teams.
Leslie is a proud Utah resident of more than 10 years, having moved west from her native Ohio where she graduated summa cum laude from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and accounting. She has been named one of Utah Business magazine’s “40 under 40” and serves on the executive committee of the Women’s Leadership Institute, a nonprofit dedicated to elevating the stature of women’s leadership in Utah.
Kat McDavitt, Chief Marketing Officer, Collective Medical
Kat McDavitt is chief marketing officer and head of external affairs for Collective Medical, a Salt Lake City-based healthcare technology firm. Collective has built a network spanning more than 35 states and 1,000 hospitals and delivers a platform proven to identify and support at-risk patients and improve outcomes. In her current role, Kat leads Collective’s marketing and policy functions, through which she positions the company for continued rapid and nationwide growth. Kat has consulted with more than 70 healthcare technology companies on marketing, communications, and corporate strategy. Her experience positioning healthcare companies ranges across small angel-funded start-ups to multi-vertical publicly-traded corporations. Kat joins Collective from Innsena Communications, a boutique integrated communications agency she founded and led to exclusively serve the healthcare technology sector. Prior to running Innsena, she spent more than seven years with Dodge Communications, now known as MERGE Atlanta, where she served as vice president leading the agency’s strategic services division. As vice president of strategic services, Kat handled corporate strategy and positioning, regulatory and government affairs, and high-profile media and analyst relations initiatives. She was embedded in several of the agency’s most notable healthcare technology accounts including Change Healthcare, Surescripts, NextGen Healthcare, and Kareo.
Brooke Clark, Senior Director of Talent Acquisition, Recursion
Brooke Clark is the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition at Recursion, a clinical stage, technology-enabled drug discovery company combining machine learning with automated cell biology. Over the course of two years, Brooke’s efforts have resulted in the addition of over 100 employees in the areas of Biological Research, Data Science, Software Engineering, and Automation. She has created a scalable hiring infrastructure and is working to establish the company as an employer of choice on a national scale. Based in Salt Lake City, Recursion’s Talent Acquisition team has worked to successfully attract top talent to a market better known for its accessible outdoor recreation than for being a biotech hot spot. Prior to joining Recursion, Brooke worked to identify and hire exceptional employees on behalf of Fortune 500 companies in the banking, outdoor products, and technology sectors. She holds a BS in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from the University of Utah.
Heather Kirkby, Chief People Officer, Recursion
Heather spent much of her career in the technology sector as a Product Manager at Intuit. Her passion for developing people and building great teams eventually led her to lead Intuit's global Talent Development function, prior to joining Recursion.
Heather was born and raised in Canada. After getting a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Queen's University, she worked as a Field Engineer for Schlumberger in Arctic Alaska. Getting an MBA was her path to Intuit. In all of her life transitions, she sought to travel and meet new people and see new places on this one amazing planet. Heather's love of family, friends and the outdoors fuels life outside work. Her soul food most recently has been family bike rides, any activity on trails and book club.
