Wintersongs with Kitka - OAKLAND (Friday)

Few things evoke the magic of the winter holidays as the transcendent splendor of the human voice. Kitka has researched and discovered a treasure trove of seasonal music from a wide variety of Eastern European ethnic and spiritual traditions. Wintersongs showcases material ranging from rousing Slavic folk carols to lush, meditative Eastern Orthodox sacred choral works, to original new pieces inspired by the beauty and mystery of wintertime.

Kitka's 2022 Wintersongs program theme is "Shchedry Vechir" (Ukrainian for "A Generous Evening", a common phrase in traditional Ukrainian holiday carols). This concert will feature sacred and secular Ukrainian songs for the season while raising awareness of, and funds for, a variety of organizations addressing the current humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Kitka is a fully vaccinated ensemble and organization. All concert attendees must present a vaccination card with booster, if eligible, along with matching photo ID and be fully masked while inside the concert venue.
