Winterfest 2020 and the “Tunnel of Lights” beginning Friday, November 27th. Winterfest will be held from 5PM until 9PM Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights from Nov 27th through Dec 20th. Additionally the Museum will be open from Dec 26th through Dec 30th. Winterfest and the “Tunnel of Lights” is celebrating its 42nd year as a family holiday tradition. Halls are decked both inside and outside with over 15,000 lights. Outside, closed trolley cars transport jolly guests down a tunnel of lights as they sing traditional Christmas Carols with their trolley car operators. For an open air view of the “Tunnel of Lights,” one open sleigh car is lit up entirely with holiday lights. Be sure to dress warm and bring blankets. Inside, the Visitor Center is a Winter Wonderland with multiple model train layouts and lights galore. Admission prices are $15-$20 per person and all ticket sales must be made in advance. Museum Members receive half off admission.
There will be no refunds on tickets! Winterfest and the Tunnel of Lights is held Rain or Shine. We do not operate Open Cars in the Rain and will substitute for a closed car if it is raining.
Connecticut Trolley Museum will be following CT Museums Phase 2 Guidelines to keep all of our visitors, volunteers and staff safe.
By purchasing tickets at this time, you and all guests in your group accept and agree to adhere to our visitor policies as written below-
• Visitors are required to bring & wear masks or cloth face covering that completely covers the nose and mouth unless doing so would be contrary to his or her health or safety due to a medical condition. Visitors will be asked to leave the property if they are not willing to comply and may face additional sanctions if the East Windsor Police Department is called to assist.
• Those in high-risk groups and over the age of 65 are encouraged to stay safe and stay home
• If visitors are not following visitor protocols after a staff member reminds them visitors will be asked to leave the property and if they are not willing to comply they may face additional sanctions.
• Guest must bring their own snacks as there is no food available for purchase except for vending machines
• Restrooms will be available inside our Visitors Center and will be cleaned and disinfected multiple times each day by Museum employees with EPA registered products. The time they were last cleaned and disinfected will be posted on a sign on the restroom door.
• The Museum will have hand sanitizer readily available.
• Employees and volunteers are not able to take group photos with a visitor’s device.
• All guests should comply with current standards for physical distancing on campus, maintaining a distance of 6 feet between individuals. Measures have been put in place (tape, dividers, etc.) to help you maintain physical distancing while you’re visiting us, but it’s up to group members to follow them
