As Christian organizers and in order to facilitate an event that upholds the common standard for most homeschoolers in our area, we outline the following guidelines for Conduct, Policies, and Dress Code.

Our goal with this event is to provide a fun night for our homeschool students to dress up, fellowship and have fun!

While our 9th-12th graders are allowed to bring a date/guest, this is NOT a couples-focused event.

All participants need to stay inside and in the designated, chaperoned area.

PDA: We will NOT allow physical displays of affection / contact between sexes. This includes NO hand holding, snuggling, or kissing. The dancing, will be group dancing and there will be no traditional slow dances. We will do our best to monitor. Please let your kids know the expectations. This event is for friends to get together and have some clean fun and fellowship! -- Without all that other stuff.

DANCE: This event will include a combination of fun contra and ballroom dancing (waltz) including a lesson, followed by line dances, square dancing, and possibly modern songs. No traditional slow dances. (We are currently finalizing details and contracts, therefore subject to change.)

Guys: No jeans. This is a formal occasion - slacks, sport coat, suit, and tie. Swimming attire needs to be modest. Athletic wear, longer shorts and t-shirts.

Girls: Please be modest. (Guidelines from previous local homeschool proms) No skirts/dresses shorter than 4 inches above the knee; also, no splits up the leg unless it stops 4 inches above the knee. Strapless is okay, but the dress needs to stay up when you move. No wide open backs; the back of the dress should not be much lower than your typical bra line. No plunging necklines; there should be no cleavage hanging out, and the lowest point of a v-neck should be higher than the center of your chest (even if you don't have cleavage). No bare midriffs. Remember, you will be wearing this dress for several hours. It should be comfortable and allow you to move and dance without fear of exposure. You want to have fun and not be tugging at a dress all night. Swimming attire, must be a one piece, or tankini with NO midriffs showing. No Bikinis. Athletic wear, please no short shorts and they must be mid-thigh in length.

Participants will have access to the locker rooms and change after the dancing, at midnight.

Swimwear: Swimming attire needs to be modest. For ladies, it must be a one piece or tankini with NO midriffs showing. No Bikinis.

Athletic wear: Athletic wear should be longer shorts and t-shirts.

If you are bringing a guest, please tell them the dress code. They must follow dress code.

PARENTS: It is your responsibility when shopping with your kids to help them pick appropriate outfits.

CHAPERONES are needed to make this event a success! Please note on volunteer form your willingness to help and we will be in contact. Feel free to also email homeschoolgala@gmail.com. We hope to have all homeschool groups involved and working together. Volunteers do not need to work the entire event, small shifts are available, as well as helping hands before and after the event.

Absolutely NO smoking, alcohol, drugs, vaping, etc.

This is an all night event. If your child does not want to stay they must leave by midnight, 12:00am. This will be noted on the registration form. Students need predetermined permission to leave at midnight and parents will receive a confirmation text. At this time all doors will be locked and no one will be allowed to leave or enter the building. If there is an emergency and student needs to leave during the event, please contact Angela Barber at 585-233-6292. More information will be sent in waiver to your email after registration is complete.
