Is the event free? Do I have to pay a $5 donation?

The event is free. A suggested donation of $5 or any amount is optional and goes toward sustaining the Garden’s landscape, innovative programs, and environmental education. You can donate when registering on Eventbrite or at Garden entrance. We thank you for your generosity!

What can I expect for selfies with Santa?

Take selfies with Santa! This activity is free and we welcome donations. Be sure to bring your camera or mobile phone with camera to snap photos. We will have volunteers who can help take a group shot, if you’d like. We do not allow professional camera equipment to be set up.

We ask visitors to be mindful of the amount of time they spend with Santa as there is often a growing line of eager visitors and Santa would like to see as many people as possible before he makes his way back to the North Pole!

Should I pre-register for tickets?

Yes! While we are welcoming walk-in participants upon availability, we encourage you to register in advance on Eventbrite to stay informed of any event changes. In case that the event is canceled, registered individuals receive an email notification.

Will your event be outdoors?

This event will primarily take place outdoors, with some activities indoors. Dress for the weather. Most activities such as tree lighting, performances, selfie photos with Santa, tours, and other programs will be outdoors. We suggest checking our website for announcements in case of cancellation due to weather or otherwise. Registered individuals on Eventbrite will receive an email notification in the event of cancellation.

Will you have a menorah? Will it be lit for the event?

Yes, we will have a large menorah on display at the event and throughout most of December at the Garden. No, it will not be lit during Winter Wonder Weekend. Typically, we light our menorah throughout the eight days of Hanukkah and it has been partially lit at our annual event. This year, however, Hannukah takes place December 18 through 26, after our Winter Wonder event. Come back later in December to see it lit!
