Event description

Winter War has become the premiere event of the South. Last year we nearly 900 people from all over the country. This year will be even bigger! With a new road for better site access, new on-site parking lot, over-flow parking, we will put on the best Winter War to date! We place a heavy emphasis on scenarios; loads of tourneys and night fighting to take place in the Main Field. So set the dates aside, and get those carpools ready with your friends.

Camp Master Registration runs from September 1, 2018 until September 30, 2018

General Registration runs from Sept 15, 2018 until November 7, 2018

Youth 11-15 and Children under 10 also from September, 15 2018 until Novevmber 7, 2018

Day Trip and Late Registration tickets will be available begining November, 8 2018

Camp master registration is open now! ALL CAMPS MUST BE REGIESTERED AND ONE CAMP MASTER AS OUR CONTACT! Camp Masters must register your camp before September 30, 2018 to open Registration for your group. Everyone will have to register with the name of the Camp Master they are camping with when General Registration opens on September 15, 2018.

The Camp Master has a number of responsibilities, including:

1. The Camp Master must provide contact information to the head of Troll, we will work out the details of where your group is camping and slots for all camp groups will be reserved.

2. The Camp Master must be the first one from their camp to check in to Troll. If the Camp Master has not yet checked in, nobody staying in that camp will be able to check in or set up his or her camp. If a proxy is needed, you can clear that with Troll prior to check in.

3. The Camp Master must coordinate with Event staff for campsites. Some campsites are reserved for units. Coordination will take your numbers in consideration. Remember this is ROUGH camping, and with the addition of 50% more space available, some sites will need extra TLC. Be prepared to move some leaves and detritus if needed.

4. The Camp Master is responsible for ALL the members of their camp, you will be our primary contact person if there is an issue.

5. The Camp Master must be the last one to leave their campsite at the end of the event, and before doing so must check the camp out with Security. If the Camp Master cannot stay until everyone from their camp is off site, they must go to Security and appoint another member of their camp to check the camp out.

6. The Camp Master must place a sign at the front of their camp listing the camp name and the Camp Master's name in legible English. The sign can be decorated in any way the camp desires, so long as the required information is legible.

7. The Camp Master must attend a meeting at 6:00pm on November 8, 2018.

8. The Camp Master is responsible for policing their campsite and making sure that the fire, if there was one in the camp, is out and that all trash has been picked up and dropped off and designated locations before they check out with Security.

9. The Camp Master is responsible for providing a basic First Aid kit for the camp, which should include: ace bandage wraps of each size (2-3", 4" and 4-6"), 2 slings/triangle bandages, a bag of gloves of each size, 1 tube of glucose tabs, 2 small flashlights with batteries, 1 CPR mask, 4 bags of 4x4 gauze pads, 1 box of band aids of various sizes, 2 bottles of alcohol hand gel, multiple rolls of gauze wrap of various sizes, 10 2x2 gause pads, a pair of tweezers, 2 bottles of wound wash, and 10 ice packs. Most of these items can be found in the basic First Aid kits you can find at the drug store. The camp MUST have a working fire extinguisher in camp!

10. The Camp Master is responsible for providing a single security volunteer to help us police the site. The secutiry shifts will run from 8:00pm until 12:00pm Friday and Saturday night. Our security professional will choose 6 volunteers from the lottery before hand per night.

When the Camp Master checks in at Troll, they should bring proof of the following items:
1. Photo ID
2. First Aid kit
3. Fire extinguisher

Vendors will be required to Register ALL staff, and will choose the field VENDOR when they do. We will keep camping record locations for all Vendors separate in our files.

As of this year, we will not be providing feast. Instead we will be using those funds to make the fighting, tournies and night life that much better. Friday night there will be Poisoner’s Guild Party supplying libations to go with live performances by the Flying Circus and a mystery musical guest! We will have more in depth battle field props for your immersion. Tournaments will run all three nights! More music and entertainment on Saturday night!

Don’t forget the Arts and Sciences competition! Showcasing all your craftiness and performance abilities. There will competition in every category, including a bardic competition on Saturday evening, and the brew competition Friday evening. Rules for A&S will be posted soon.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Yes, all persons must show proof of ID at Troll. Those over 21 will be given a wristband to show proof of the ability to drink on site. All persons under the age of 18 will be required to have a guardian and any minor under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Although we track all registration digitally, a written and signed form for all minors will be done at Troll and kept on file.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We have a parking lot!!!! The lot will be next to the event site. Parking is first come first serve. Once the lot is full and has been closed, we will be directing vehicles to the off-site lot.

Is the site pet friendly?

Yes, but we enforce standard SC State Park rules on site. All dogs must be kept on lease at all times. You cannot just tie your dog up at camp and leave them. Barking and nuisance dogs could result in us asking them to leave. Remember, your pet is your friend and you need to treat them as such.

What can I should bring into the event?

Although it gets warm in SC in the daytime, it can drop temperature fast. Please dress in layers, keep your campsite stocked with campfire too.

What was that about firewood?

For FIREWOOD delivered to your campsite, please contact T&T Firewood @ 803-507-0376
