The Winter Solstice occurs on Dec 21st when it is the shortest day of the year as the sun rises at its most southernly point. Solstice means “Sun stands still”.
Solstice is a celebration of nature, light, and life. There is a stillness to this time before the sun’s strength builds and the days grow longer again. Everything lies dormant in this silent night. While nature looks “dead” life continues beneath the soil, preparing for it’s re emergence. It is a sacred time of rest and reflection before the awakening/rebirth/new year.
Our life energy follows nature’s cycle of the seasons. Just as nature hibernates so to does our energy go deep within us until the days grow longer. When nature begins to bloom, our own energy rises out of hibernation.
By stilling our minds we create a sacred space for inner peace, inner peace creates outer peace which spreads over the world.
This is a time to release the past and welcome new opportunities.
This event is about taking time from the frantic bustle to celebrate the bigger meaning of the season with gratitude for what we HAVE, reflecting on the year gone by and setting intentions for the new year.
Go into the holiday with a deeper sense of Peace, Joy and Love.
