Event description
Unwind in Nature Practicing Shinrin-Yoku the Japanese Art of Forest Bathing for better Wellness and Health in the Outdoors

About this Event

Celebrate Winter! Join Cultured Forest for one hour of guided Forest Therapy in the North Woods of Central Park. Forest Therapy is based on a Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku or "Forest Bathing" that involves connecting with nature by “Bathing in the Forest Atmosphere”. Studies show time in nature lowers blood pressure, boosts immunity and reduces stress. In this wellness activity, you will indulge with fellow nature lovers in relaxing mindfulness and self-care in a guided outdoor class that takes you through different areas of the park. Plan to see some of the most natural settings of the park, while learning activities that allow you to better connect with yourself and the outdoors. Leave feeling centered, connected and more at peace. We are excited to end this session with a tea ceremony in the Japanese Forest Bathing tradition. Attendees must be 8 years or older. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This will require about a mile of hiking with some stairs and walking up and down steep inclines and over rocks. Do not miss this experience recommended in the Vogue 2019 December gift guide.
