In order to bring some warmth back into these cold winter months, Robin Hills Farm will be offering a "Winter Seminar Series," consisting of free seminars that fall under the umbrella of philosophy, sustainability, and wellness. Seminars will cover a variety of topics, from nonviolence to permaculture (and everything in between). This year's series will be on select Mondays throughout the winter, from 6:30-8pm.
Nonviolence is much more than a philosophy. Popularized by the political and spiritual leader, Mahatma Gandhi, this movement is based upon the tenets of compassion and self-sacrifice. Few political systems employ this form of philosophy, and yet it has been successful in nearly every single sustained campaign founded upon its tenets. The Indian Campaign for Independence and the Civil Rights Movement under Martin Luther King Jr. are two of the most well-known examples of nonviolent conflict resolution, but nonviolence reaches much further. Join Ben Wielechowski of Robin Hills Farm as he leads a lecture on the history and philosophy of nonviolence and the implications it has for a contemporary world. Discussion will also include human nature, psychology, religion, and the environment.
