Event description

Do you love the Sierra mountains in the summer and winter? Do you want to be part of a top-notch Team of Professionals? Do you want to stay in top physical condition? Do you like working with people in challenging environments? Do you want to make a difference?

If you answered yes, then Wilderness Corps is for you!!! Wilderness Corps is based out of the Sierra National Forest. We are hosting our 2018/2019 Winter OSV Volunteer Kick-off Call, which is designed to give callers an overview of what our OSV Program is and what to expect as a volunteer this Winter on the Sierra National Forest, should the current forecasts hold. We will go over what USFS Certifications are required for this program and what certifications are you can earn and the time commitment required. We will ask for a commitment from you. We need to be able to count on our volunteers, that when you say you will show up, you will in-fact show-up.

The first 15 minutes or so will be Wilderness Corps Staff going over the schedule, and then we will open it up for any questions that you have. This will be a conference call, and we will send out the PIN. If you are a returning volunteer from last year, we are doing this call in place of the OSV Orientation day at Kokanee.

Last year we had four Wilderness Corps volunteers, in the Our Winter program. Those volunteers were given the opportunity to get First Aid and CPR Certified, Chainsaw Certified, Snowmobile Certified last year and this year we hope to add an Avalanche Certification to that list. We are using Government owned Snowmobiles, fuel and government supplied gear and therefore need to be certified to operate them and know how to use all the gear on them to rescue yourself or others.

Join the call:
