What better way to spend a chilly winter week? Travelling the world! Did you know we have the whole world in our own backyards? Utilizing our city as a classroom we identify cultures and communities we want to learn more about and apply a project-based framework to expand on the idea with an end goal in mind such as service/engagement learning, problem analysis or peer presentation.
We identify community resources and partner with experts for deeper learning. Experiential Education is an approach to learning that follows the lead of the student's interest and supports any type of learning be it from books, stories, film, digital media, interviews, movies, art, story writing, hands-on projects or mentorship. Through this process we learn many valuable lessons on our learning styles, and communication strategies and realize feelings of empowerment and excitement by exploring our own ideas and interests. Let's escape the cold together - the LumenKids way! Ages 11-17, 9:00am-3:00pm, vegetarian lunch included.
