Winter Bike Riding & Maintenance: Tips & Tricks
Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (EST)
Somerville, United States
For any cyclist who refuses to hang up the bike this winter: this workshop includes both an introduction to winter riding and how to prepare for it, and the opportunity to exchange information with other four-season riders. Initially the instructor will introduce students new to winter riding to both components, and to riding gear that will help you get started. Then we'll exchange information about our winter adventures while enjoying hot apple cider and treats!
Students will leave this workshop with new ideas on how to get started on their bikes this winter.
Students must be at least 18 years of age. No particular experience required!
Hot apple cider and treats will be provided by the instructor.
What to Bring:
Questions! And something to take notes with/on.
“Seven” as she’s commonly known, has learned her bicycle maintenance skills through a combination of Broadway Bicycle School training, and spending inordinate amounts of time around SCUL headquarters (a positive bicycle chopper gang). Seven maintains a small fleet of “normal” bicycles, has built and maintained her own modified bicycles, and she likes to read bicycle repair manuals for kicks. Seven enjoys maintenance best when her SCUL comrades get together and ask her two or three “how do I…” questions at once. She’s also keen on hot yoga, meditation, making electronics go, and treasures playtime with friends.
This is a one-session class, running Wednesday, December 4, 7PM - 9PM
