Event Details

A one-day conference to give you the tools, ideas and inspiration to build a truly independent, sustainable creative career.

Presented in partnership with University of North Carolina School of the Arts, The Charlotte Black Film Festival, a/perture cinema, The North Carolina Black Repertory Company, Sawtooth School for Visual Art, and Creative Catalyst at Thomas S. Kenan Institute for the Arts.

Seed&Spark wants you to take control of your creative career. Our friends are here to help.

Join Seed&Spark and special guests for a day of workshops, expert panels and networking to help you build an audience, effectively raise the funds to bring your story to life and create a distribution strategy you control.

Learn about the challenges and opportunities for artists making a creative career in North Carolina from the Founder of The Charlotte Black Film Festival, Tommy Nichols; screenwriter, actor, and educator, Megan Petersen;  illustrator and Photoshop paintbrush creator, Kyle T. Webster; and Director of Operations and co-creator of Girls and Production (GAP), Alex Klein.

Hear what they have to say about how they have sustained their creative careers in a candid conversation moderated by Seed&Spark founder and CEO Emily Best.

Get into the nitty gritty of distributing your finished work with the founder and CEO of Seed&Spark Emily Best.

A workshop that breaks down all the work that comes after you finish the work of making the thing!
