The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, is pleased to present its seventh annual Winning Works, presented for the first time in collaboration with the Chicago Public Library.
Following a national call for ALAANA (African, Latino(a), Asian, Arab and Native American) artists to submit applications to the Winning Works Choreographic Competition, the four Award recipients will showcase world premiere works on the members of the Joffrey Academy Trainee Program and Joffrey Studio Company.
The goal of the Award is to recognize talented and emerging ALAANA choreographers whose unique perspective will ignite creativity in the form of original works of dance.
World premiere works by Award Recipients Shannon Alvis, Sean Aaron Carmon, Karen Gabay and Jimmy Orrante will be performed over three performances this March.
All tickets to these performances are FREE! Tickets will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
Please reserve your tickets through Eventbrite. At-the-door tickets will only be available if space permits.
Tickets are general admission. Please note that all tickets must be picked up at Will-Call (there is no printable ticket option). Only one ticket will be handed out per person. Parties of two or more must all be present to claim tickets or should reserve tickets individually.
Tickets not claimed 5 minutes before the start of the performance may be released to patrons on standby.
Performance run time: approximately 1 hour, 15 minutes with no intermission.
Photography and video recording are not permitted.
