Tasting Series Event
Wines of Spain
REGISTRATION NOW CLOSED
When was the last time you had Spanish wine in your glass? This country makes amazingly diverse wines, from crisp racy whites to big aged reds, and to famed fortified wines. Spain has the most land under vine in the world and is the third largest producer, yet a lot of its regions are still terra incognita for many winelovers.
On November 19 we'll have a chance to refresh our knowledge and discover some new regions and varieties.
Please join us in our exploration of the Spanish wines from six regions: Rias Baixas, Rueda, La Mancha, Alicante, Rioja, and Priorat. Tom Jenkins from Sonoma's Best will be our expert guide through the journey.
Bring your friends along, have a relaxed, fun, and educational evening before the holiday season, expand your wine vocabulary, and meet new people!
Space is limited.
Our last event sold out quickly!
Please register early to ensure availability.
We’re going to taste:
- Albariño from Rias Baixas
- Old-Vine Verdejo from Rueda
- Single-Vineyard Tempranillo from La Mancha
- Monastrell from Alicante
- Rioja Reserva from Rioja
- Grenache-Carignan blend from Priorat
Gayle and Tom Jenkins, Sonoma's Best
Voted the “The Best Place To Buy Wine in Sonoma,” we attribute this honor to our careful selection of wines along with pricing that very often is well below what a consumer would pay at a winery or its tasting room and the fact that many of our Sonoma offerings are small producers with limited production and very little distribution, which means most are not available outside Sonoma County and, in some cases, outside our store.
While we love our Sonoma wines, we also have a similar affection for Old World wines, especially the wines of France and Italy that, we believe, continue to impress our local customers – including many local winemakers -- who are open to tasting and purchasing wines made in different styles than what are found locally.
Sonoma's Best will be offering a 10% discount off the wines poured at the event. (And, of course, all the wines in the shop will also be available for purchase that evening!)
Started in 2014, the WWS Tasting Series (formerly "Wednesday Wine Club") has been a successful addition to the Napa | Sonoma Women for WineSense portfolio of events. These tastings are specifically designed to be a fun and easy gathering of members, friends and wine lovers of all levels to enjoy great wines, learn something new and meet new people.
The Tasting Series events are held quarterly and alternate between Napa and Sonoma locations.
Kick back! Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere...and some fine wines.
Space is extremely limited.
Please register early to ensure availability.
Hope to see you there!
