Wine Pairing Dinner with Jonathan Cain of Journey
Wed, December 7, 2016, 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM PST
Anyone who has ever been invited backstage after a concert knows how the sharing of a bottle of wine can enhance the spirit of camaraderie and celebration. It's this spirit that inspired Jonathan Cain of the rock band JOURNEY to create his very special Finale wines. Jonathan invites you "backstage" to share his wines, each paired with a special menu prepared by Chef Doug Vega.
Throughout the evening, Jonathan will personally meet guests, give his notes on each of the wines, and provide some insight into writing, recording, and performing those great Journey hits. He'll even play a few of those hits!
This special evening takes place at Double Helix Wine and Whiskey Lounge at Town Square. Chef Doug Vega has created a small-plates tasting menu that pairs with each of Jonathan's Finale wines. Food and wine will be served at stations, offering a casual atmosphere for guests to mingle and discover their favorite pairings.
Jonathan Cain is the hit songwriter, keyboard player and member of the rock band Journey. He has receieved two BMI Songwriter awards for Journey's "Open Arms" and "Who's Crying Now" , and was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1997 for the Journey song he co-wrote "When You Love a Woman", which he wrote with Journey bandmates Neal Schon and Steve Perry. Perhaps his most notable contribution was as sole author of the classic Journey ballad "Faithfully". Journey is currently nominated to be inducted into the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Proceeds from the special event benefit ARTTEC, a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization that provides career training to high school students in Las Vegas, and throughout the country.
