Wine Maker's Dinner at Brazil Express Grill
Thu, May 18, 2017, 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM CDT
We are collaborating with our friends from Lynfred Winery in Roselle for our third annual churrasco wine dinner. Guests will dine at Brazil Express Grill with owners Mario & Ana Vitelo and our wine maker friends Andres Basso, Rodrigo Gonzalez & Christina Anderson Heller, while being served lynfred wines and a churrasco rodizio.
In the early 1800's, European immigrants settled in the Southern part of Brazil. The settlers became known as Gauchos. A unique type of cooking called churrasco was inspired by these farmers. They would gather together and start a wood burning fire, once the fire turned into golden embers, large portions of meat were skewered and slowly cooked to perfection. Using conventional knives, which they wore on their belts, they sliced thin, succlent, tender and flavorful pieces of prime meat in succession onto each person's place.
