Event description

Description

Women's Initiative Networking Event!

Current, new and potential members are invited to join Women’s Initiative for a fun evening of mingling and networking. Attendees will also learn about the important mission of ABLE (Advocates for Basic Legal Equality) and their United Way funded program, Medical-Legal Partnership for Children. Complimentary light appetizers will be provided, and a cash bar will be available. FREE parking is available.

About ABLE

Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc. (ABLE) is a non-profit regional law firm that provides high quality legal assistance in civil matters to help eligible low-income individuals and groups in western Ohio achieve self reliance, and equal justice and economic opportunity. The Toledo Medical-Legal Partnership for Children (MLPC) is a unique program in which doctors and lawyers work together to provide legal services to pediatric patients and their families on a broad range of issues that affect child health and wellbeing. Patients served by the MLPC are the most vulnerable in our community – children living in poverty.

Help Us Support ABLE!

In addition to networking at our September 18th W.I.N.E. Down, we are asking for donations of crayons and coloring books to provide children with an activity while their parent is seeking legal aid. Items will be collected upon check-in at The Oliver House.

*Space is limited: Buy your ticket today to reserve your spot!

Can't attend? Consider sponsoring a child in our Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program instead! The program delivers a free book every month to children from age birth to five in an effort to improve early literacy in our community. Women's Initiative just expanded the program to include all of Toledo Public Schools zip codes.
