Wine and Cheese Paring & Mediterranean Cooking with Local Products
Friday September 13th, 6:00PM-9:00PM
Instructors: Mia Jones, Chef Alba Johnson, Bin 201
Mia is our in-store Cheese Monger and Team Leader for the Specialty department. She is a Certified Cheese Professional (CCP) for the American Cheese Society (ACS). Her passion is to educate and share her wealth of knowledge with others.
Alba is a cooking instructor and personal chef specializing in southern Italian and Mediterranean cuisine in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Her recipes are rustic, simple and vibrant in taste.
Matching cheeses and wine can be a challenging task. If done correctly, a perfect match can be an exquisite experience, especially when paring with local cheeses. Join us as we match local wines from Great Frogs by our friends at Bin 201 with our local cheeses presented by our in house Certified Cheese Professional Mia Jones. Followed by a cooking class with Chef Alba Johnson.
Chef Alba will create delicious dishes using the recommended local cheeses by Mia, local products and produce available that day from Whole Foods. Using the locally sourced and grown ingredients, we will learn to make several Mediterranean dishes from scratch and we will learn why local is better.
Cost: $75. Per Person.
