Description

Please join us in celebrating Windrush Day !

The 3 BAME networks resident in 2 Marsham Street, MHCLG (BAMEnet) Defra (EMN) and the Home Office (THE NETWORK) have organised a tri-department event to recognise the Windrush Generation and subsequent migrants, and their descendant's large contributions to Britain's cultural, social and economic life.

The event titled 'Windrush Day - stories from the community - a celebration of our history' will take place on 26 June. There will be two sessions, morning (11.00 - 12.30) and afternoon (13.15-15.00) that will feature several different speakers including Lord Bourne of Aberystwyth - Minister of Faith, prominent members of BAME community and schools, charities and community groups who are running community projects to celebrate, commemorate and educate communities about the history of the MV Empire Windrush.

This is a fully inclusive event and we encourage BAME and non-BAME staff from all three departments to attend.

Please book the sessions which you can attend and be considerate of space for other colleagues.

Register with your work email as these event are open to civil servants only unless prior arranged.
