Event description

Description

Take a tower climb tour at the Wind Point Lighthouse for a one-of-a-kind experience!

Open tower days take place on the first Sunday of the month between June and October, every half hour between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Online reservations are recommended, as many tours sell out. The tours are a great opportunity to take in the history of the lighthours and the breathtaking views from the top of the tower!

Background...

Located in Racine County, Wisconsin along the shores of Lake Michigan, the Wind Point Lighthouse is one of the tallest and still operating lighthouse in the Great Lakes! It stands 108 feet tall and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The lighthouse was built in 1880 and was designed by Orlando Metcalfe Poe who served in the Civil War. It was lit for the first time on November 15, 1880 and continues to be lit to this day. Learn more at windpointlighthouse.org!
