WiMPET, our female professional group in WAIMM is organizing the first of a major women empowerment gathering in the West African Sub region. It is targeted at all female professionals in the Mining and Oil & Gas industry from Cote D’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, Nigeria, Cameroun and Liberia i.e. where WAIMM has chapter and also regional chapters. The theme for the event is "Pushing the frontiers of the mining and petroleum industry - the role of women in sustainable development".

This conference, is slated from the 19-20th of July 2018 at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Accra.

  • Can the mining and petroleum industry achieve sustainable development without promoting equal employment opportunities for men and women?
  • Creating a more diverse and inclusive workforce – a catalyst to sustainable development.
  • To what extent are men and women impacted differently by the mining and petroleum industry and what are the implications on sustainable development?
  • Promoting women’s empowerment in the mining and petroleum industry towards sustainable development – the role of the government.

There will also be other discussions following innovations by lady engineers in all aspects of Mining, Oil & Gas and allied professions to better relations and promote productivity.

Professional Delegates are required to pay a registration fee of Ghc850.00 for single, Ghc3500.00 for a group of 5 Delegates, Ghc6,500.00 for a group of 10 delegates and Ghc 10,000.00 for a group of 15 delegates.
