Join Kara Taylor and Sammy-Jo Hand for this transformational urban day retreat!

Included in this experience:

  • Reach a higher state of consciousness with a kundalini yoga practice (no experience needed), journaling and ceremony

  • Deep relaxation accompanied by a crystal bowl sound bath

  • Invigorate and Ignite your body and soul with a fundamentals Wim Hof Method practice including breath work and ice bath

  • Enjoy a delicious, wholesome and healthy vegetarian light lunch and selected teas

  • Optional discussion/time for self-reflection in our Moroccan day lounge amoungst endless rugs and pillows

  • We will be overlooking the expansive Ohio River on a stylish property just outside Louisville, KY

Who is this for: This experience will be for anyone dedicated to doing the WORK of the body and soul. It's for those who don't mind a challenge, but who also love feeling good. This will be a day of self-exploration, self-improvement and a fair bit of self-indulgence as well. We will go deep within, we will sit with the discomfort of our human experience and we will tap into our full potential, realising what we are truly capabale of!

Who is this not for: The Wim Hof Method can be practiced by most individuals, however, if you're dealing with a serious medical condition, we advise having a chat with your healthcare professional before attending this experience.

We advise against practicing the Wim Hof Method if you experience any of the following:

  • Epilepsy
  • High blood pressure (in case of prescription medication)
  • Coronary heart disease (e.g. Angina Pectoris; Stable Angina)
  • Pregnancy
  • A history of serious health issues like heart failure or stroke
  • We ask that all who attend are over the age of 18
  • If you suffer from migraines, we urge you to be cautious about taking ice baths

What to bring: A yoga mat. A pen. A smile. Comfy clothes. Swimsuit. Towel. Warm clothes to change into (pajamas are welcome!). A blanket can be beneficial during the breathing or if you just want to get super cozy!

Cancelation policy: Sometimes, sadly, you might need to cancel an experience with us and of course that's fine, we will miss you but we also understand that life happens! If life does happen, pretty please cancel with at least 24 hours prior to the start time of any workshop or event. If you cancel within the cancelation period we will give you a full refund, but if you cancel outside of that time we will not be able to offer any refunds or substitute workshops. We hope that you can understand and appreciate that this is all super important to us. Thank you for being a good sport.

About Kara: A recently certified Wim Hof Instructor, Kara is a born lover of the cold. She uses an organic teaching method to help individuals tap into the bodies natural ability to heal itself, through breath work and cold exposure. Kara acts as a guide through the 3 pillars of the Wim Hof Method, to help you focus and tap into what your body already knows how to do, in order to become a happier and healthier version of yourself. She focuses on empowering individuals to learn how to trust and listen to their natural instincts in order to break free from anxiety and doubt. And hopefully in the end you'll learn to love the cold too! Or at least not hate it. ;)

About Sammy-Jo: Body positive advocate, feminist, social justice worker, and spiritual teacher, Sammy-Jo is all about helping people flow, with equal amounts of awkward and grace, through the ups and downs of life. Connecting on a very human level with humor, love and weirdness, she facilitates movement, breath, meditation and self-love workshops with the purpose of aligning people with their human experience, whatever that means to them in the moment. She’s an Aussie who lives with her partner in a cozy home filled with pillows and cushions in Louisville, Kentucky (her and her partner met whilst backpacking India. It’s a beautiful story, one for another time).

About the Wim Hof Method: The Wim Hof Method combines three essential pillars, the cold, our breath and mindset/focus. Cold therapy has a heap of health benefits, including the buildup of brown adipose tissue and resultant fat loss, reduced inflammation that facilitates a fortified immune system, balanced hormone levels, improved sleep quality, and the production of endorphins— the feel-good chemicals in the brain that naturally elevate your mood. The breathing technique improves energy levels, reduces stress levels, and also improves immune function, as well as helping mentally organize what each individual needs in their daily life in order to feel better. The practice of the Method helps drive mindset and focus, which strengthen your ability to use them in your daily life, helping you tackle obstacles which previously could have seemed daunting. And all of this is scientifically proven!

About Kundalini Yoga: Kundalini connects us to the Source energy within us. We do certain movements and hand gestures (mudras) and use sound vibration through mantra, which moves energy, releases blockages and takes us to a higher state of consciousness- allowing us to see the truth of who we really are. Kundalini yoga is suitable for those with no yoga experience.
